Job summary

SouthState Bank seeks a Commercial Portfolio Manager to support the commercial loan and deposit portfolio. You will provide underwriting, portfolio management and superior client service within the bank's policies.

The role involves analyzing credit risk, preparing detailed loan packages, and guiding requests through approvals while ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations. Collaboration with Relationship Managers and internal partners is essential.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or related field; banking education is asset.
• Minimum of 4–6 years in credit analysis and commercial banking with at least 2 years in portfolio management/underwriting.
• Deep knowledge of Federal and State lending regulations and bank policies.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze financial information to evaluate the credit worthiness of new loan requests and ongoing portfolio management.
• Prepare commercial loan packages with background information, financial analysis, risk assessment and recommendations.
• Guide loan requests through the Credit Approval Process ensuring structure meets client needs.
• Maintain documentation and compliance for loans and treasury management approvals.
