Job summary

FAIRWINDS Credit Union in Orlando seeks an experienced Assistant Vice President, Commercial Portfolio Officer to oversee the health of the commercial loan portfolio and guide participation activities.

You will evaluate credit risk, monitor performance, and coordinate with Commercial Credit, Risk Management, and external partners to ensure sound portfolio administration and regulatory compliance. A strong background in CRE/C&I lending is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field is required.
• 5+ years of experience in commercial lending, commercial credit, portfolio management, or related financial services.
• Solid commercial credit analysis and financial statement analysis skills.
• Knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Experience with CRE, C&I lending, portfolio monitoring, or credit risk management preferred.
• Experience with loan participations, syndications, or shared credit structures preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary commercial credit resource for participation and syndication activities, including opportunity evaluation, due diligence, transaction analysis, partner coordination, and ongoing portfolio monitoring.
• Analyze the financial condition, creditworthiness, and risk characteristics of originating and participating financial institutions.
• Administer purchased and sold loan participations, including financial reporting review, covenant monitoring, servicing communication, and issue escalation.
• Monitor portfolio performance and analyze trends related to concentrations, asset quality, risk migration, industry exposure, and maturity profiles.
• Prepare portfolio reports, credit summaries, risk assessments, and recommendations for executive leadership and loan committees.
• Support commercial portfolio risk oversight by monitoring criticized and classified relationships and escalating material concerns as needed.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with participation partners, originating institutions, and other external stakeholders.
• Identify emerging portfolio risks, trends, and control concerns and communicate findings to leadership.
• Ensure compliance with Credit Union policies, loan participation requirements, and applicable regulatory guidance.
