Job summary

UMB Bank in Phoenix seeks a Sr. Portfolio Manager to support loan officers, oversee a commercial and industrial portfolio, and manage credit risk for large, complex credits.

You will prepare underwriting packages, analyze collateral, and structure loans to meet client needs while safeguarding the bank’s interests. This role emphasizes strong communication, deep knowledge of credit underwriting, and the ability to work with cross‑functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related fields.
• 5+ years commercial banking experience including credit underwriting.
• Current valid driver’s license.
• Demonstrates strong excellent communication skills (verbal & written).
• Demonstrates strong knowledge of credit underwriting.

Responsibilities

• Partner with loan officers to administer the management of assigned commercial banking relationships.
• Perform credit underwriting duties for existing/prospective client relationships and prepare underwriting packages.
• Monitor borrowing base reports and covenant compliance with regular reporting requirements.
• Analyze borrower/guarantor financial performance and ensure debt capacity and covenants are met.
• Provide recurring customer service and drive opportunities for growth with clients.
