Job summary

UMB Financial Corporation seeks a Portfolio Manager-Business Banking to underwrite credit requests for renewals, modifications, and changes in terms across its Business Banking portfolios.

You will spread financial statements, analyze operating performance, and present credit solutions to structure covenants and reporting requirements. This role supports risk management for a multi-state portfolio and may require site visits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related area with at least 6 hours of accounting
• 1+ year in Business Loan experience (up to $5MM)
• 1+ year credit analysis experience
• Demonstrates credit decision making skills and ability
• Demonstrates financial analytical skills with ability to solve complex problems by interpreting data and results
• Demonstrates excellent writing skills to create credit memos
• Demonstrates excellent verbal and interpersonal skills to communicate with sales force and credit managers
• Demonstrates ability to work independently
• Proficiency of Excel and Word to create tables and worksheets for credit memos

Responsibilities

• Perform spreading company financial statements and tax returns.
• Analyze financial statements, personal financial statements, and performance metrics for explanation of variances, to identify trends, and to address a credit strategy appropriate for the credit risk.
• Present solutions to credit structure, covenants, financial reporting requirements and other credit conditions to the Portfolio Manager.
• Provide specialized risk guidance and advice on existing portfolio of watch list credits across a multi-state geographical footprint.
• Secure financial information and test covenants requirements.
• Provide timely client follow up and ensure that loan servicing actions are properly administered.
• May perform site visits if needed.
• Address complaints successfully, resolve documentation exceptions and covenant requirement violations.
