Job summary

Central Bank of St. Louis is seeking an experienced Commercial Lender to solicit, develop, and manage a portfolio of secured and unsecured loans, including commercial real estate and construction.

You will oversee profitability and risk within lending guidelines, and refer complex cases to senior leadership while driving business development in the community. The role emphasizes relationship building, adherence to bank policies, and collaboration across departments to deliver exceptional service

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in business, finance, or related field.
• Typically 10+ years of commercial lending experience.
• Strong financial analysis and risk assessment abilities.
• Ability to make decisions within lending guidelines and manage risk.
• Excellent communication and client relationship skills.
• Knowledge of banking products and services.

Responsibilities

• Interview loan applicants to assess needs and repayment capacity.
• Evaluate financials, collateral value, and management quality.
• Monitor portfolio profitability and risk; refer complex loans.
• Coordinate loan activities with internal departments.
• Attend Loan Committee meetings and report findings.
• Develop business through sales and referrals; cross-sell bank products.
• Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, CRA and related regs.
