Job summary

RockBridge Search is seeking an experienced SVP Commercial Lender in Texas to lead a relationship-driven commercial lending practice. You will build a book of business, develop client relationships, and guide deals from discovery to closing with a focus on sophisticated financing solutions.

The role emphasizes market knowledge, credit acumen, and strategic leadership to deliver integrated banking solutions to established businesses and owners.

Qualifications

• Significant commercial lending and relationship management experience.
• Proven history of business development and portfolio growth.
• Strong credit analysis and financial statement analysis skills.
• Experience structuring and negotiating complex commercial credit facilities.
• Excellent understanding of commercial loan products, credit policy, risk management, and banking regulations.
• Strong knowledge of cash flow analysis, collateral evaluation, guarantor support, and repayment sources.
• Demonstrated ability to develop relationships with business owners and senior executives.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation, and organizational skills.
• Sound judgment and the ability to make thoughtful decisions in a fast-moving environment.
• A professional presence combined with an approachable, relationship-first personality.
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, accounting, economics, or a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, manage, and grow a profitable commercial loan portfolio while maintaining strong asset quality.
• Identify and pursue new commercial lending opportunities through networking, referrals, centers of influence, existing relationships, and active business development.
• Build long-term relationships with business owners, executives, developers, investors, and other commercial clients.
• Analyze client financial statements, tax returns, cash flow, debt structure, collateral, industry trends, and overall creditworthiness.
• Structure and negotiate commercial loans that appropriately balance client needs, risk, pricing, terms, and profitability.
• Lead transactions from initial prospecting and discovery through underwriting, approval, documentation, closing, and ongoing relationship management.
• Partner closely with credit, loan operations, treasury management, and other banking teams to deliver a coordinated client experience.
• Cross-sell treasury management, deposit, cash management, and other financial products when they genuinely benefit the client.
• Monitor existing relationships and portfolios for changing financial conditions, emerging risks, covenant concerns, and additional opportunities.
• Maintain a strong understanding of local and regional economic conditions, competitive banking environments, and industry trends.
• Participate in community, industry, and professional organizations to increase visibility and expand the commercial banking network.
• Maintain detailed, accurate, and timely customer and pipeline information.
• Ensure lending activity follows established policies, regulatory requirements, risk standards, and internal procedures.
• Collaborate with senior leadership on market strategy, portfolio growth, relationship development, and overall commercial banking objectives.
• Serve as a trusted resource to clients by understanding their businesses rather than simply understanding their balance sheets.
