Job summary

Wellworth Bank in Shelbyville, TN is seeking a Commercial Loan Officer to provide a full range of commercial banking services, develop new business and client relationships, and underwrite, structure, and close loans in accordance with the Bank's lending policies.

The role requires analyzing credit histories, negotiating terms, and evaluating loan requests while staying compliant with evolving lending regulations. Strong sales, organizational and interpersonal skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, finance or related area is preferred but not required.
• Three to five years' experience in a commercial banking position.
• Extensive experience in business and client development.
• Commercial credit underwriting knowledge.
• Extensive knowledge of commercial lending policies and procedures.
• Above average sales, organizational and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Develops new customer prospects and business for the financial institution.
• Analyzes the credit history of applicants and determines their loan repayment capabilities.
• Negotiates credit terms, loan repayment methods and collateral specifications.
• Evaluates loan requests based on bank policies and makes loan recommendations to management.
• Reviews new laws and regulations that influence business lending within the financial institution and makes recommendations to management when necessary.
• Handles inquiries from applicants and branch personnel. May assist in resolution of customer issues.
• Meets performance/production goals determined by management.
• Represents the financial institution in public relations activities and community affairs.
• Performs other duties assigned by Market President, Regional President and other executive management.
