M&T Bank Corporation is seeking a Commercial Credit Senior Associate in New York, NY to assess and manage credit risk for corporate banking clients. You will underwrite complex transactions, analyze financials, monitor loan portfolios, and ensure regulatory compliance in collaboration with relationship managers and risk teams.

The role involves end-to-end deal support, risk rating maintenance, and proactive identification of credit risk while working within the bank's policies and controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field and 5 years' experience in commercial credit, public accounting, financial statement preparation/analysis or other financial analysis.
• In lieu of a degree, a combined minimum 9 years' higher education and work experience, to include 5 years' experience in commercial credit, public accounting, financial statement preparation/analysis or other financial analysis.
• Significant experience in large corporate financial institutions or counterparty credit underwriting and analysis, with expertise in insurance, especially statutory accounting preferred.
• Exposure to MSRs, BDCs, Broker Dealers and Asset Managers a plus.
• Strong analytical skills with proficiency in financial modeling and analysis of credit metrics.

Responsabilités

• Focus on transaction execution and portfolio management in collaboration with senior team members.
• Underwrite new requests and material modifications from deal screen through approval and for the life of the loan.
• Monitor ongoing credit risk and perform annual reviews and covenant monitoring.
• Prepare credit analyses and independent credit quality assessments with risk ratings and mitigants.
• Develop loan structures, terms, conditions, and collateral considerations.
• Engage with relationship managers throughout the deal process to maintain timely risk ratings.
