Cardinal Health seeks a Senior Legal Counsel to serve as the primary legal partner to division leaders, providing guidance on commercial contracts, risk mitigation, and strategic business advice.

The role requires drafting and negotiating external agreements, collaborating with various legal teams, and ensuring contract and communications compliance across domestic and international business relationships.

Qualifications

• High academic achievement in undergraduate and law school.
• Licensed to practice law.
• 5+ years of experience in a large complex organization or nationally recognized law firm preferred.
• Commercial/transactional experience required; healthcare law knowledge preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication; strong attention to detail.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interface with many levels.

Responsibilities

• Provide proactive and pragmatic legal advice to contracting business clients across the enterprise.
• Draft and negotiate contracts with external parties.
• Manage fast-paced, high-volume workload.
• Identify legal and compliance issues and business risks; escalate appropriately.
• Communicate effectively with all organization levels.
• Collaborate with Litigation, Privacy, Regulatory Counsel, and Compliance teams.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and updates to contract templates.
• Work under supervision of senior attorneys and use sound judgment for leadership.
• Counsel business leaders on legal risks and risk mitigation strategies.
• Negotiate terms to secure favorable terms for the business.
• Review external party terms and manage iterations of agreements.
• Review marketing and PR communications for compliance.
• Support Litigation as needed; stay updated on regulations and trends.
