Smiths Detection in the United States is seeking a Commercial Contracts Specialist to orchestrate commercial review, negotiation, and execution of large contracts.

You will partner with Sales, Legal, Procurement and Finance to manage lifecycle, renewals, and compliance across federal, state, and local government contracting. Attention to detail, risk assessment, and strong negotiation are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business/finance, legal studies, or contract management.
• Professional qualification in contract management is desirable.
• Understanding of contract law, risk management, and negotiation strategies.
• Experience with federal, state, and local government contracting preferred.
• Familiarity with contract lifecycle management tools and CRM systems.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and analytical abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead commercial review and negotiation of large, complex contracts.
• Coordinate between Sales and Legal to resolve issues and execute agreements.
• Own contract records, milestones, renewals, and approvals.
• Ensure compliance with federal requirements and internal policies.
• Identify bottlenecks, improve templates, playbooks, and workflows.
• Support audits and reporting related to contract compliance and performance.
