Job summary

Clark College seeks an experienced Superintendent for Commercial Construction in Northern Michigan to oversee field operations and coordinate all trade contractors on site. You will work with the Project Manager to drive safety, schedule, and quality on commercial builds.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in commercial construction, proven on-time delivery, and excellent communication skills to manage field teams, vendors, and owners across the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management or engineering preferred.
• Proven ability to independently manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication across diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate subcontractors on site to meet plans and schedule.
• Develop field execution strategies and look-ahead schedules.
• Direct day-to-day site activities and manage labor.
• Enforce safety standards and company policies.
• Maintain records: daily reports, quality inspections, change notices.
• Review subcontractor pay applications and change orders for budget impact.
• Lead site meetings and communicate progress to owners.
• Track material delivery and storage.
