Job summary

Clark College in Southeast Michigan is seeking an experienced Superintendent to oversee field operations for commercial construction projects. You will work with the Project Manager to lead day-to-day site activities, coordinate all trade contractors, and ensure progress is safe, efficient, and of high quality.

The role requires strong knowledge of construction sequencing, scheduling, and coordination, plus clear communication and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field.
• Proven ability to independently manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational skills with effective procedures and workflows.
• Solid understanding of construction and engineering operations; adaptable to new tools.

Responsibilities

• Subcontractor coordination to ensure work aligns with plans, specs, and schedule.
• Establish field priorities and execute strategies with look-ahead schedules.
• Direct day-to-day site activities, managing subcontractors, vendors, and craft labor.
• Enforce safety standards and company policies on site.
• Monitor quality and compliance, address deviations promptly.
• Maintain daily reports, quality inspections, and material logs.
• Review subcontractor pay apps and assess change orders for budget impact.
• Lead or participate in site meetings with owners and stakeholders.
• Track delivery and storage of equipment and materials on-site.
