Job summary

Clark College in Northern Michigan seeks an experienced Superintendent to oversee on-site operations for commercial construction. You will coordinate trades, drive project planning, and supervise day-to-day activities to deliver quality work on schedule.

The role requires a strong background in commercial construction, excellent communication, and the ability to lead field teams, coordinate safety, and ensure compliance with project specs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CM/Engineering or related field.
• Proven ability to independently manage multiple projects.
• Strong organizational and process development skills.
• Solid understanding of construction and engineering operations.
• Proficiency with data automation tools and PM software.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Oversee subcontractors in the field to ensure work aligns with plans, specs, and schedule.
• Establish field priorities and look-ahead schedules to meet milestones.
• Direct day-to-day site activities, managing subcontractors, vendors, and craft labor.
• Enforce safety standards and company policies on site.
• Monitor work for safety, quality, and compliance with specs.
• Maintain daily reports, quality inspections, change notices, and material logs.
• Review subcontractor pay apps and assess change orders for budget impact.
• Lead or participate in site meetings to share progress with owners and stakeholders.
• Track delivery, inspect, and store equipment and materials on-site.
