Job summary

Clark College is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to support field leadership for commercial construction projects across Southeast and Central Michigan. You will coordinate daily site activities with the Superintendent, manage trade partners, and keep work on schedule while upholding safety and quality standards.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in a Superintendent or related role and a degree in construction management or Civil Engineering.

Qualifications

5+ years in a Superintendent or similar field role.
Bachelor's degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, or related field.

Responsibilities

Assist in planning and coordinating short-term (2–4 week) jobsite activities with trade contractors.
Support development and maintenance of the project schedule, including three-week lookahead planning.
Monitor contractor performance to ensure alignment with timelines and requirements.
Help facilitate timely approvals and documentation with architects, engineers, and authorities.
Uphold jobsite safety, quality, and environmental standards at all times.
Assist with project close-out and ensure work meets company standards.
Maintain detailed daily site reports documenting activity and progress.
Track labor hours and submit trade hours and labor reports.
Participate in onsite coordination and progress meetings.
