Job summary

Harper is building an AI-native brokerage platform in New York and San Francisco, on-site. This Senior Commercial Broker role focuses on turning expert brokerage judgment into reusable infrastructure, training standards, and product recommendations that guide how Harper brokers insurance.

You will partner with product, engineering, and operations to define workflows, train AI systems, and improve the operating model by learning from real cases and market responses.

Qualifications

• Substantial commercial brokerage experience across complex small and middle-market accounts.
• Ability to translate brokerage practice into repeatable workflows and training.
• Knowledge of general liability, property, workers’ compensation, commercial auto, umbrella, and specialty coverages.
• Comfortable working with product and engineering teams to build AI-enabled tooling.

Responsibilities

• Encode brokerage judgment into clear workflows, standards, playbooks, examples, and escalation rules.
• Define brokerage product requirements with product and engineering to identify problems worth solving.
• Train and evaluate AI systems using cases, expected outcomes, grading standards, and failure examples.
• Design and evaluate brokerage workflows across account processes to ensure sound judgment remains guiding decisions.
• Own the brokerage learning standard and collaborate with learning teams on delivery.
