Job summary

CCFBank is seeking a Senior Collections Specialist to minimize losses, support customers facing financial challenges, and mentor team members within our Collections function. The role collaborates with the AVP of Mortgage Processing & Special Assets to manage delinquent accounts and develop repayment solutions.

Qualifications

• Associates’ degree in accounting, finance, economics or related field.
• Substitution: Two (2) years of directly related full-time experience may be considered in lieu of the degree.
• Four (4) years of experience in the financial services industry.
• Four (4) years of experience working in collections or customer service.
• Experience with Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae, VA, USDA, and SBA loan programs is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage collection and recovery efforts for delinquent and charged-off consumer and commercial loan accounts.
• Contact customers to discuss payment obligations, negotiate repayment arrangements, and identify loss mitigation opportunities.
• Assist with loan workouts, settlements, bankruptcies, repossessions, foreclosures, and recovery activities.
• Work closely with the AVP of Mortgage Processing & Special Assets and external agencies to support collection and recovery efforts.
• Research delinquent accounts, conduct skip tracing, and gather documentation necessary to support collection strategies.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of collection activities and customer interactions.
• Monitor portfolios to identify high-risk accounts and recommend appropriate action.
• Create and maintain department procedures and support process improvement initiatives.
• Serve as a mentor and resource for Collections Specialists and other team members.
• Participate in department and bank-wide projects, system updates, and process enhancements.
• Ensure compliance with all bank policies, procedures, and applicable state and federal regulations.
