Job summary

Brady Corporation, a global industrial technology leader, is seeking a Collections Lead to drive day-to-day collection activities for high-risk accounts in Milwaukee. You will monitor performance, escalate where needed, and mentor junior colleagues while coordinating with Customer Service, Sales, Operations, and Credit teams.

You will own portfolio accounts, optimize cash flow, and lead onboarding and training for the Collections team, with a focus on process improvements and SOP maintenance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related business field or equivalent relevant experience.
• 3+ years of experience in Collections, Accounts Receivable, Credit, or related financial function.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor peers and provide guidance.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills; SAP and/or GetPaid experience preferred.
• Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and drive process improvement.

Responsibilities

• Owns a portfolio of the department’s most complex, high-risk, or strategically important customer accounts, ensuring timely collection and issue resolution.
• Monitors collection performance metrics such as past-due %, current %, DSO, and promise-to-pay follow-ups.
• Assists with workload prioritization and ensures coverage of customer portfolios.
• Supports regular team check-ins and knowledge sharing on collections priorities.
• Acts as first point of escalation for complex collection issues and high-risk balances.
• Leads onboarding and training of new Collection team members, communicating progress to the Supervisor.
• Partners with customers to identify root causes and barriers to payment and drives timely resolution.
• Promotes effective use of GetPaid and SAP systems and adherence to collections practices.
• Identifies process improvements and supports SOP development and training opportunities.
• Provides status updates and risk assessments on assigned collection projects to management.
