Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a Coatings Inspector II to lead inspections of protective coating and lining work on industrial, water, and infrastructure projects, with sign-off authority at hold points.

Responsibilities include planning hold points, verifying surface prep, application, and cure; conducting adhesion and holiday testing; writing inspection and nonconformance reports; supervising Level 1 inspectors.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience inspecting under AMPP CIP Level 2.
• Familiar with SSPC/NACE surface preparation standards and common coating systems.
• Experience on tank, pipeline, water/wastewater, or structural steel coating projects.

Responsibilities

• Plan inspection hold points and testing per coating specification and manufacturer data.
• Verify surface preparation, application, and cure with sign-off authority at each hold point.
• Perform adhesion and holiday testing and disposition defects; write inspection and nonconformance reports.
• Supervise Level 1 inspectors on larger projects and review their logs; represent the program to owner and applicator.
