Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a Coatings Inspector II to lead inspections of protective coatings on industrial, water, and infrastructure projects. You will plan hold points, verify surface prep, application, and cure with sign-off at each hold, and perform adhesion and holiday testing with clear documentation.

With a CIP Level 2 and 2+ years of inspection under it, you will oversee Level 1 inspectors, write inspection and nonconformance reports, and liaise with owners and applicators

Qualifications

• AMPP CIP Level 2 certification, current, with 2+ years inspecting under it.
• Knowledge of SSPC/NACE surface preparation standards and common industrial coating systems.
• Experience on tank, pipeline, water/wastewater, or structural steel coating projects.

Responsibilities

• Plan inspection hold points and testing from the coating spec.
• Verify surface prep, application, and cure with sign-off at each hold point.
• Perform adhesion, holiday, and cure testing; disposition defects and specify repairs.
• Supervise Level 1 inspectors on larger projects and review their logs.
• Write inspection and nonconformance reports; represent the program to owner and applicator.
