Responsibilities

• Ensure on-time completion of customer deliverables, including technical calls and sample workflows.
• Lead development of novel coating application techniques and advanced testing methodologies for market/customer needs.
• Guide coating application approaches and support factory line trials on customer production lines with field teams.
• Establish strategic vendor partnerships to expand internal testing capabilities.
• Share technical advances internally and travel 15–20% for factory implementations.

ABOUT THIS ROLE

We are seeking a Senior Coatings Engineer in Malden, MA to lead application development and dispense process optimization across key global accounts. Serving as a primary technical authority, this role will bridge lab evaluation and field execution, lead customer-facing technical projects, and drive process innovation.

A Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related discipline is required. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

The ideal candidate will also have a strong background in PCBA manufacturing, failure modes, layout considerations, or signal integrity. Experience with coating application processes and technical project management is preferred.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead customer technical support initiatives by partnering closely with global sales and field-deployed service teams to drive key customer opportunities.
• Serve as a trusted technical authority, establishing strong relationships with key engineering contacts and decision-makers at customer accounts.
• Ensure on-time completion of customer deliverables, including leading technical calls, managing sample workflows, and providing experimental support.
• Lead the development of novel coating application techniques and advanced testing methodologies to address emerging market and customer requirements.
• Guide coating application approaches and support factory line trials on customer production lines alongside field-deployed engineering teams.
• Establish strategic vendor partnerships to expand internal testing capabilities.
• Share technical advances internally and travel 15–20% for factory implementations.

This position is based in Malden, MA and is accessible via the Orange Line.

Salary Range: 115,000 - 135,000
