Job summary

Critical Fit Recruiting has an opening for a Sr. Applications Engineer focused on PCB coatings in the San Francisco Bay Area.

You will lead technical support for electronics customers, collaborating with our global sales and field technical service teams to ensure on-time delivery and strong customer outcomes. The role requires a degree in an engineering field, with preferred experience in electronics coatings and related manufacturing processes, plus willingness to travel 15–20% domestically

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, or Electrical Engineering.
• Experience supporting customers in the electronics industry preferred.
• Experience with coating applications and manufacturing processes preferred.

• Lead technical support for customers by collaborating with global sales and field technical teams.
• Be a trusted technical expert and maintain relationships with key technical contacts.
• Own on-time completion of customer activities, lead technical calls, manage samples, and provide experimental support.
• Understand and implement coating application approaches on customer samples in production lines.
• Communicate technical advances internally and engage customers on product details.
• Establish relationships with vendors and contract manufacturers to expand capabilities.
• Travel to visit customers on site in the Bay Area; 15–20% travel expected internationally and domestically.

Sr. Applications Engineer - PCB Coatings - Bay Area, CA

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead technical support for customers by working closely with our global sales and field-deployed global technical service teams.
• Be a trusted technical expert to our customers and establish and maintain positive relationships with key technical contacts and decision makers at our customers
• Own and drive the on-time completion of customer activities, including leading technical calls with customers, managing customer samples, and experimental support for the customer opportunities they own
• Understand and implement coating application approaches on a variety of customer samples in customers’ production lines with our field-deployed technical team
• Communicate technical advances internally with other members of the company and be able to engage customers on the details of products
• Establish relationships with vendors and contract manufacturers to expand capabilities and address customer needs
• Frequent travel to visit customers on site in the Bay area is expected, with additional international and domestic business travel (15-20%) expected.

BACKGROUND PROFILE:

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, or Electrical Engineering
• Experience supporting customers in the electronics industry is strongly preferred
• Experience with the application of coatings and manufacturing processes is preferred
