Job summary

ACTnano, Inc. in Malden, MA is seeking a Chemical Process Engineer to join a dynamic materials startup that designs coatings for protecting printed circuit boards in wet environments.

You will help translate lab-scale innovations into reliable manufacturing processes for high‑volume production. You will apply your background in chemical engineering and process improvement to run experiments, analyze data, and drive quality and efficiency across manufacturing, with ISO/IATF QMS awareness

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related field
• 1–3 years in chemical process engineering with manufacturing experience
• Experience designing experiments, analyzing data, and translating insights into process improvements

Responsibilities

• Oversee and enhance the manufacturing processes for ACTnano's coating products.
• Drive continuous improvement to meet demand and drive cost efficiencies.
• Scale up new products from lab to full-scale production, with internal and external partners.
• Perform quality control testing to ensure product reliability.
• Engage with internal and external stakeholders to troubleshoot and resolve quality issues.
• Conduct root cause analyses and implement corrective actions in response to customer concerns.
• Design and execute experiments, analyze data, and develop actionable insights.
• Utilize statistical process control techniques to assess and enhance quality control robustness.
• Experience with ISO & IATF QMS systems is a plus.

We are a dynamic materials startup in Malden, MA. With a strong global technical team, we develop and manufacture coatings that protect printed circuit boards in electronics, allowing them to function in water-laden environments. We work with the biggest brands in the consumer electronics and automotive industries to increase product reliability and improve product performance in wet and humid conditions. Not only do we provide a portfolio of coatings, but we also work closely with our customers to help solve some of their most difficult problems through rapid innovation and ingenuity.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and enhance the manufacturing processes for actnano's coating products.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality, meet increasing product demand, and drive cost efficiencies.
• Scale up new products from lab to full-scale production, both in-house and with external manufacturing partners.
• Perform quality control testing to ensure consistent product reliability.
• Engage with internal and external stakeholders to troubleshoot and resolve quality issues.
• Conduct root cause analyses and implement corrective actions in response to customer concerns.
• Design and execute experiments, analyze data, and develop actionable insights.
• Utilize statistical process control techniques to assess and enhance quality control robustness.
• Experience with ISO & IATF QMS systems is a plus.

Who We need

• Degree: B.S. or higher in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
• Experience: 1-3 years in chemical process engineering with a strong foundation in manufacturing and process improvement.
• Technical Skills: Proficient in designing experiments, analyzing data, and translating insights into process improvements.
• Other Requirements: Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.

Salary range: 75,000 to 90,000
