Senior Product Development Engineer/Scientist

About actnano: We are a dynamic materials technology company in Malden, MA. With a strong global technical team, we develop and manufacture coatings that protect printed circuit boards in electronics, allowing them to function in water-laden environments. We work with the biggest brands in the consumer electronics and automotive industries to increase product reliability and improve product performance in wet and humid conditions. About this Role

Education & Qualifications:

• Education: M.S. or Ph.D. in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or an associated technical field.
• Core Requirement: Strong background in polymer science is required.
• Experience: Previous industry or research experience in the development of coatings is preferred.
• Languages: Fluency in Mandarin, Spanish, or German is preferred, but not required.
• Work Authorization & Travel: Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US. International and domestic travel is required.

Responsibilities for this role include:

• Developing functional materials, test methods, and implementation solutions for addressing environmental protection of electric vehicles, ADAS systems, and consumer electronics.
• Maintaining project plans, timelines, and deliverables for staying accountable on product launch strategy.
• Communicating technical advances and project strategy internally across a global team comprising technical team members and sales.
• Working autonomously on open-ended projects ranging from new coating development to creation of novel application techniques.
• Expanding actnano’s intellectual property portfolio by innovating on current or new coatings and application technology.
• Serving as the subject matter expert on coatings under development and participating in developing strategy for implementing coating solutions for customers.
• Collaborating effectively with various functions within actnano like sales, technical services, manufacturing, and operations on new product launch.
• Mentoring technicians and co-ops on execution of experiments towards coating development.

This position is based in Malden, MA, accessible via the Orange Line.

The salary range for this position is $125,000 – $138,000 per year, which reflects the base pay the Company reasonably and in good faith expects to pay at the time of this posting.
