Garney Construction is seeking a Senior Coating Technician to manage daily field operations with minimal supervision. You will train and mentor technicians and laborers, ensuring safety and quality in coating applications and testing.

The role requires hands-on leadership, strong communication with superiors, and the ability to drive corrective actions while maintaining a positive team dynamic. Opportunity for growth within a large specialty contractor.

Qualifications

• Trains others in abrasive blasting, water blasting, injection grouting, coatings, and testing.
• Competent Person trained: confined space, fall protection, silica, scaffolding.
• Operates and maintains pump systems and spray equipment.
• Safely drives a pickup truck with a trailer.
• Contributes to project planning meetings with the Superintendent.
• Minimum of 3 years in high-performance coating applications.

Responsibilities

• Identify where and when to perform blasting, coatings and tests.
• Lead and coach team during STAC meetings.
• Communicate effectively with Foreman and Superintendent.
• Lead a team of laborers and technicians when required.
• Assess conditions and determine corrective actions.
• Motivate the team to perform at high standards.
• Observe and report conditions to supervisor.
