Job summary

Garney Construction seeks a Senior Coating Technician to lead field coating operations on jobsites. You will perform abrasive blasting, apply coatings, run tests, and mentor junior crews, working with the foreman and superintendent to keep projects on schedule.

You will train technicians in safety, equipment use, and testing procedures, while ensuring quality workmanship and adherence to specs. This role is on-site and may require travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years in high-performance coating applications.
• Trains others in abrasive blast, water blast, coatings, and testing.
• Competent Person Trained: confined space, fall protection, silica, scaffolding.

Responsibilities

• Identify where and when to perform abrasive blasting, water blasting, injection grouting, coatings, holiday test, and adhesion test.
• Lead and coach team during STAC meetings.
• Communicate effectively with Foreman & Superintendent and lead a team of laborers and technicians when required.
• Assess conditions and issues; determine corrective actions; motivate the team to perform.
• Accurately observe and report conditions and issues to supervisors.
