Job summary

Garney Construction is seeking a Senior Coating Technician to manage daily field tasks, train technicians and laborers, and execute coatings and testing with minimal supervision.

The role requires coordinating with the Foreman and Superintendent, leading crews, and ensuring safety and quality in high-performance coating applications. Enid, OK location featured in the posting offers comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in high-performance coating applications
• Trains others in abrasive blasting, coatings, testing
• Competent Person Trained: confined space, fall protection, silica, scaffolding
• Operates and maintains pump systems and spray equipment
• Able to drive a pickup with trailer
• Participates in project planning meetings with Superintendent
• Identifies conditions and corrective actions

Responsibilities

• Identify where and when to perform abrasive blasting, water blasting, injection grouting, coatings, holiday and adhesion tests
• Lead and coach others in STAC meetings
• Communicate effectively with Foreman and Superintendent
• Lead a team of laborers and technicians when required
• Assess conditions and issues and determine corrective action
• Maintain a positive attitude to motivate the team
• Observe and report conditions to supervisor
