Job summary

RINA North America is seeking a Senior Coastal Engineer (Marine Lead) to lead the maritime discipline on a project in Houston, TX, with potential locations in Fort Lauderdale, FL or Chicago/Lisle, IL. The role involves directing design from concept through construction close-out and serving as engineer of record, coordinating with USACE and the non-federal sponsor.

The position requires 15+ years in coastal/port engineering, a Texas P.E.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of coastal/port/waterway engineering with end-to-end project delivery.
• Active Texas Professional Engineer license (civil).
• Experience with Section 408 and Section 10/404 work for USACE.
• Experience with berthing, dredge, and port terminals is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Owns maritime design basis, berth concept, dredge footprint, and Section 408/404 inputs.
• Directs marine detailed design, including permits and construction drawings.
• Writes scopes of work and leads technical bid evaluations.
• Engineer of Record during construction: review method statements, design changes, field queries, and permit compliance.
• Oversees berthing trials, as-built certification, and USACE notification.
