Job summary

RINA is seeking a Senior Marine Structural Engineer to lead berth and waterfront system design across multiple US sites, including Houston, Sunrise/Ft. Lauderdale, Boston, and Chicago. You will oversee concept to construction, perform critical analyses, specify equipment, and supervise on-site execution with a focus on durability and hurricane loads.

The role requires a Texas P.E. license, 10+ years of marine experience, and strong leadership and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Active Texas Professional Engineer license (civil or structural) required.
• Minimum 10 years of marine structural engineering experience for pile-supported waterfront structures, including construction involvement.
• Experience with hurricane-exposed Gulf Coast waterfronts and soft coastal clays.
• Experience with liquid bulk or barge terminals.
• Familiarity with USACE permit drawing standards and permit submittal requirements.
• Strong written and oral communication; collaborative and solution-driven mindset.

Responsibilities

• Lead marine structural engineering for berth and waterfront infrastructure from concept through construction and handover.
• Prepare construction drawings, structural calculations, and specifications; perform constructability analysis.
• Supervise pile driving and structural erection, including testing, coatings, and tolerance checks.
• Develop procurement specs and vendor evaluations for piles, fenders, bollards, and mooring equipment.
• Coordinate with mooring analysis software and CAD/BIM environments; support USACE Section 408 reviews.
