Job summary

Divergent is hiring an Advanced Manufacturing Maintenance Specialist in California to maintain and improve CNC machines, robotics, and automation systems. You will diagnose complex failures, develop maintenance strategies, and drive reliability across our aerospace/automotive manufacturing platform.

The role emphasizes preventive/predictive maintenance, calibration, and process improvement with a focus on reducing downtime and increasing capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field or an equivalent maintenance background.
• Experience troubleshooting CNC tools, robotics, and automated manufacturing systems.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting across multiple disciplines.
• Experience with CNC controls, PLCs, motion control, and automation platforms.
• Hands-on experience in a factory/production environment.
• Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced startup setting.

Responsibilities

• Own the performance and reliability of advanced manufacturing equipment, maximizing availability and throughput.
• Diagnose complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and robotics failures and apply corrective actions.
• Analyze equipment trends and production data to improve reliability and reduce downtime.
• Troubleshoot PLC logic, CNC controls, robot programs, and safety systems.
• Develop and improve preventive maintenance procedures and instructions.
• Mentor technicians in maintenance best practices and documentation.
• Collaborate with suppliers and cross-functional teams to implement sustainable solutions.
• Support installation, commissioning, and ramp-up of new CNC machines and automation equipment.
