Job summary

GT Technologies is seeking a highly experienced CNC Prototype Machinist / Programmer to join the Product Development team. The role requires programming, setting up, and operating CNC machines to produce prototype parts and tooling, with interpretation of complex drawings and tolerances.

Responsibilities include selecting tooling, calculating speeds and feeds, troubleshooting issues, inspecting first pieces, and documenting processes for repeatability.

Qualifications

• Program, set up, and operate CNC machining equipment.
• Interpret drawings, dimensions, tolerances and GD&T requirements.
• Determine sequences, workholding, tools, and inspection methods.
• Calculate speeds, feeds, and cutting conditions based on material and tooling.
• Troubleshoot tool wear, chatter, chips, surface finish, and accuracy.
• Verify programs, establish offsets, and inspect parts.
• Document processes to enable repeatability and maintain safety.
• Min. 10 years of machining experience; min. 4 years programming/setup.

Responsibilities

• Program, set up, and operate CNC machining equipment.
• Interpret engineering drawings and GD&T requirements.
• Select machining methods, tooling, and inspection methods.
• Adjust speeds, feeds, and cutting conditions as needed.
• Troubleshoot machining issues and ensure dimensional accuracy.
• Document programs, setups, and processes for repeatability.
• Work with engineers to resolve manufacturability issues.
• Maintain shop safety and housekeeping.
