Job summary

SCI Technology, Inc. is seeking a CNC Programmer/Machinist to develop programs for prototype builds in the Aerospace and Defense market. You will generate machine setup and tooling instructions for low-volume fabrication and assist machinists in producing prototype hardware.

The role requires programming and operating 5-axis milling machines, lathes, mill turns, and water jets, with experience machining aluminum, steel, and plastics. Strong GD&T and drawing interpretation are essential.

Qualifications

• Programming CNC machines using CAM software required
• Minimum 5 years experience
• Must have full understanding of engineering drawings and GD&T
• Associate degree desirable
• Certificate in machining desired
• MasterCAM experience desired
• Experience with Haas milling and turning equipment desired
• SolidWorks design experience desired
• Ability to understand the manufacturing process and suggest improvements
• Strong time management and ability to coordinate multiple projects

Responsibilities

• Import CAD files into CAM and generate toolpaths for CNC milling and turning
• Program, setup, and operate 5-axis milling machines
• Program, setup, and operate CNC lathe and mill turn
• Program, setup, and operate CNC water jet equipment
• Prepare stock material for further machining operations
• Adjust machining parameters like speed, feed, torque, and coolant
• Perform in-process inspection
• Create setup and tooling documentation for machinist staff
• Work to deadlines
• Oversee maintenance of machining equipment
