Job summary

ITT Inc. in New York State seeks a Manufacturing Engineer / CNC Programmer III to provide senior technical leadership in CNC machining strategy, process development, and cross-functional manufacturing initiatives.

This role leads complex program development, scalable solutions, and high-level problem resolution while mentoring junior staff. The ideal candidate has expertise in CNC programming, multi-axis machining, tooling strategy, and metrology, with a track record in design for

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
• Expert-level proficiency interpreting engineering drawings, GD&T, and CAD models.
• Mastery of CNC programming, multi-axis machining, process optimization, and tooling strategy.
• Ability to lead cross-functional problem-solving and implement corrective actions.
• Strong communication and leadership skills, including design reviews and supplier interactions.
• Advanced understanding of metrology, CMM programming, and tolerance validation.
• Advanced statistical capabilities, including SPC and capability analysis.
• Familiarity with CAD/CAM systems and digital manufacturing workflows.

Responsibilities

• Develop machining strategies for complex components requiring multi-axis machining.
• Create operational routers in ERP and mentor engineers on processes.
• Lead long-term tooling platforms, fixtures, and scalable machining solutions.
• Establish CNC programming standards, CAM library structures, and best practices.
• Manage continuous improvement projects affecting throughput, cost, safety, or quality.
• Support design for manufacturability with input on geometry and tolerances.
• Serve as senior resource for complex machining, programming, or quality issues.
• Stay current with emerging machining technologies and digital manufacturing trends.
• Mentor and train engineers, programmers, and machinists.
