Overview

The Manufacturing Engineer / CNC Programmer II independently develops, optimizes, and troubleshoots CNC machining processes for ITT components. This role requires advanced proficiency in CAD/CAM programming, fixture design, and process analysis. The engineer supports multiple machining platforms, provides technical guidance to junior engineers, and contributes to operational improvements.


Responsibilities


  • Develop and optimize machining process plans for moderate to high complexity components.

  • Develop complete operational routers in ERP systems.

  • Design complex fixtures and tooling solutions, including CAD models and detailed prints.

  • Serve as a technical resource for CNC operations, including troubleshooting and operator support.

  • Lead continuous improvement activities focused on reducing cycle time, scrap, and variation.

  • Analyze dimensional data, SPC trends, and CMM reports to support quality investigations.

  • Maintain accurate process documentation, tooling records, and revision control.

  • Apply advanced machining strategies and maintain knowledge of tooling and equipment advancements.

  • Work effectively in a highprecision environment with tight tolerance requirements.

  • Mentor and train machine operators on manufacturing processes.


Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline or 10 years of equivalent experience.

  • Advanced skill in interpreting complex engineering drawings, GD&T, and CAD models.

  • Demonstrated ability to perform advanced problemsolving and lead rootcause analysis.

  • Strong communication skills for interaction with engineering, quality, operations, and suppliers.

  • High proficiency with inspection tools and dimensional analysis practices.

  • Ability to troubleshoot and interpret CMM programs and reports; CMM operation strongly preferred.

  • Advanced mathematical proficiency including geometry, trigonometry, and statistical methods.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CAD/CAM applications.


Preferred Requirements


  • 6+ years of programming experience with MasterCAM, NX, Esprit, or equivalent systems.

  • 6+ years of experience with CNC lathes, mills, and multiaxis machining centers.

  • Experience developing inspection plans and supporting quality documentation (such as PPAP).

  • Experience customizing or maintaining CAM postprocessors.

  • Experience participating in or leading Lean/Six Sigma initiatives.
