Job summary

Aerotek is hiring a CNC Mill Machinist in Irving, TX. The role involves operating 3-axis and 5-axis CNC mills to produce precision components per engineering drawings, with a focus on maintaining tight tolerances and high-quality finishes.

You will set up tooling, fixtures, and offsets, inspect parts with precision instruments, and collaborate with a 30-person production team to meet daily schedules and continuous improvement goals.

Qualifications

• 35 years of hands-on experience operating CNC milling machines.
• Proficiency with CNC mill operation, including 3-axis and 5-axis machining.
• Strong understanding of feeds and speeds, and tool selection for milling operations.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions.
• Experience setting up CNC mills, including tooling, fixtures, and workholding.
• Skill in making machine offsets and minor program edits to maintain part quality.
• Competence in using precision measuring instruments to inspect parts and verify dimensions.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor CNC milling machines to produce precision parts.
• Interpret blueprints and specs to determine machining operations.
• Select, install, and adjust cutting tools, fixtures, and workholding.
• Perform machine offsets and program adjustments for tight tolerances.
• Inspect parts with gauges and measuring tools for quality.
• Troubleshoot machining issues and implement corrective actions.
• Document setup changes and maintain safe, organized work area.
• Collaborate with team to meet daily schedules and improve processes.
