Job summary

Weco Manufacturing Group in Rochester, NY is seeking a CNC Machinist to safely set up and operate CNC machining centers and other production machines using pre-approved programs and tooling. You will debug processes, document edits, and train operators to maintain quality and efficiency.

The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of CNC programming, GD&T, and blueprints, with the ability to work with minimal supervision and meet budget and delivery targets.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, mechanical drawings and specifications.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
• Ability to add and subtract four-digit numbers and to multiply and divide.
• Basic understanding of Geometry and Trigonometry.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out complex instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in situations requiring a high level of judgment and reasoning.
• Working knowledge of G & M Codes.
• Demonstrate competency on a wide variety of machines and controls.

Responsibilities

• Operates CNC machines and other production equipment with minimal supervision.
• Debugs and optimizes manufacturing processes for assigned jobs or machines.
• Diagnoses process problems and implements corrective actions.
• Maintains awareness of budget and delivery requirements for assigned work.
• Reads blueprints and GD&T, and documents edits to CNC programs to improve processes.
• Trains CNC Operators in safe machine operation and setup.
