Job summary

Quality Vision International Inc. in Rochester, NY is seeking a senior CNC lathe set-up operator to join our operations team. You will set up, program, and operate CNC lathes to produce precision components to tight tolerances, following blueprints and GD&T specifications.

This is a senior role with training provided for the right candidate. On-site Monday–Friday, 7:30am–4:00pm, with a competitive hourly wage based on experience and a full benefits package including PTO, health coverage,

Qualifications

• Minimum 5-10+ years of CNC lathe experience in precision machining.
• Ability to read blueprints and GD&T to determine operations.
• Strong understanding of G-code and CNC programming basics.
• Proficient with precision measuring instruments and tools.
• Detail-oriented, reliable, and able to work independently or in a team.
• Ability to adhere to safety protocols and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC lathe(s) and ensure equipment functions properly.
• Read and interpret blueprints and specs to plan machining operations.
• Use calipers and tools to verify dimensions and tolerances.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations to meet quality standards.
• Follow 6S safety and cleanliness practices in the work area.
• Contribute to prototype designs of optical components with mechanical input.
