Job summary

Blue Origin in Space Coast, FL, is seeking a hands-on CNC Machinist & Programmer to take hardware from engineering intent to finished parts. You will operate 3-axis and 5-axis mills and turning centers, develop CAM programs, set up tooling, and conduct first articles with precision.

This fast-paced role requires using Siemens NX CAM, Haas equipment experience, and strong GD&T interpretation to meet tight tolerances while documenting processes and supporting cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus relevant technical training or equivalent hands-on experience.
• 5+ years of CNC machining and programming experience producing tight-tolerance hardware.
• Ability to set up and run mid-to-high complexity jobs, including datum strategy, offsets, and safe prove-out practices.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T per ASME Y14.5 at working level.
• Working knowledge of CNC programming concepts and editing/verification of G-code.
• Ability to troubleshoot process issues and communicate clearly with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Program, set up, and operate 3-axis and 5-axis CNC mills and CNC lathes and turning centers.
• Create and prove-out Siemens NX CAM programs, including tool selection, workholding approach, and cutting parameters.
• Perform complete job execution from planning through inspection, including setups, setup sheets, tool lists, and documentation for repeatability.
• Execute first-article and development builds, optimizing feeds, speeds, toolpaths, workholding, and sequencing to improve cycle time and quality.
• Machine and finish components in aluminum, stainless steels, Inconel, and Monel with proper tool-life management.
• Record inspection results and support CMM and metrology as required.
• Troubleshoot machining and process issues, then implement corrective actions.
