Job summary

Blue Origin LLC is seeking a hands-on CNC Machinist & Programmer to support emergent fabrication and machining for Lunar Operations. You will review models, develop machining strategies, create CAM programs, and set up 3‑axis and 5‑axis mills and turning centers, while performing manual machining when needed and final part inspection.

The role requires reading drawings with GD&T, tool management, and a focus on flight‑relevant hardware in a fast‑paced development environment on the Space

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED plus relevant technical training or hands-on experience.
  • 5+ years of CNC machining and programming experience producing tight-tolerance hardware.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and GD&T per ASME Y14.5.
  • Experience editing and verifying G-code and tooloffsets.
  • Proficiency with shop math and basic Windows/documentation tools.

Responsibilities

  • Program, set up, and operate 3‑axis and 5‑axis CNC mills and turning centers to meet specs.
  • Create and prove‑out Siemens NX CAM programs with tool/holding strategies.
  • Execute jobs from planning through inspection, including documentation for repeatability.
  • Improve cycle time, surface finish, and dimensional capability through optimization.
  • Perform in-process and final inspection using micrometers, calipers, and CMM support.
