Job summary

TECOMET in Peabody, MA is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist III to operate, set up and potentially program advanced CNC mills, Wire EDMs and CNC lathes while meeting tight tolerances and quality goals. You will read blueprints, optimize tooling and offsets, contribute to continuous improvement, maintain safety and 5S standards, and document production activities on the tracking system.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• 5+ years CNC Machining experience.
• Associate degree/certificate or Machinist apprenticeship preferred.
• GCSE/NVQ Maths and English desirable (UK only).
• Ability to read and follow technical drawings and diagrams.
• Commitment to safety and quality in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate, set up, and could program CNC mills, Wire EDMs, and CNC lathes within tolerances.
• Propose new production setups and adjust offsets/tooling.
• Perform difficult CNC work with very close tolerances on diverse parts and metals.
• Read and evaluate blueprints or specifications.
• Troubleshoot CNC programs and processes and improve work instructions.
• Assist Engineering with fixtures, tooling and offsets; maintain tooling wear.
• Ensure product quality by following OOQ and using measuring equipment.
• Record activities in the job tracking system and pursue continuous improvement.
