Job summary

Tecomet in North Reading, MA, is seeking a CNC Machinist III to produce machined parts by operating, setting up CNC mills, wire EDMs and lathes, following drawings and quality standards. The role may involve programming. Excellence in safety and documentation is expected.

The position requires 5+ years of CNC experience, with preference for an Associate degree or Machinist apprenticeship. GMP/GDP and 5S practices apply; opportunities exist to improve tooling and processes.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 5+ years CNC Machining experience preferred.
• Associate degree/certificate in Tooling & Machining or Machinist apprenticeship preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate, set up, and could program CNC mills, Wire EDM's, and CNC lathes within tolerances per drawings.
• Propose new production setups and adjust offsets/tooling.
• Perform difficult CNC machining with close tolerances.
• Read and evaluate blueprints or specifications.
• Troubleshoot and understand CNC programs and processes.
• Improve and produce work instructions.
• Assist engineering with fixtures to improve quality and productivity.
• Ensure product quality via OOQ standards and measurement tools.
• Propose adjusted speeds and feeds for different jobs.
• Perform routine maintenance per PM schedule and 5S standards.
• Perform hand finishing.
• Follow GMP/GDP and complete job routers/cards.
