Job summary

Welch Fluorocarbon in Dover, NH is seeking a skilled Machinist / Toolmaker for a mid to senior level role. The position is on-site full-time in our Dover facility, within commuting distance.

The CNC Machinist will fabricate precision fixtures, molds, and parts, program CAM, inspect with CMM, and maintain tooling and equipment in a fast-paced shop. Required are 5+ years CNC experience, proficiency with lathes, mills, and CNC centers, GD&T, and the ability to read engineering drawings.

Qualifications

• 5+ years CNC machining experience preferred; High School Diploma required.
• Hands-on experience with lathes, milling machines, and CNC machining centers.
• Knowledge of machining speeds and feeds, tolerances and GD&T.
• Experience programming CNC toolpaths for part fabrication.
• Experience with CMM scanning and probing equipment; PC-DMIS preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.

Responsibilities

• Fabricates fixtures, molds, and machine parts from aluminum, plastic, and stainless steel using Bridgeport, manual lathe, HAAS VM3 and HAAS MiniMill.
• Creates precision fits and tolerances for dowel pins using precision hole tolerancing and reaming as needed.
• Performs precision inspection with micrometers, calipers, CMM, optical comparator, and inspection systems.
• Maintains CMM inspection programs based on part geometry and GD&T per ASME/ANSI Y14.5.
• Recommends design changes to facilitate fabrication and improve machine function.
• Maintains tools and equipment; develops preventive maintenance plans.
• Assembles and tests automated machines per drawings and Solidworks models.
