Job summary

Dover Corp is seeking a skilled Tool Maker to design, fabricate, modify, repair, and maintain precision tooling and fixtures in its Whitsett, NC facility. The role requires interpreting drawings, planning machining operations, and working with manual and CNC machines to ensure high-quality parts.

The ideal candidate will read tolerances precisely, program CNC equipment with G-code/M-code, and perform inspections with precision instruments, while contributing to continuous improvement in safety,

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
5+ years in tool making, precision machining, or related environment.
Experience setting up/operating manual and CNC equipment.
Experience with tool room equipment (mills, lathes, grinders, saws).
Experience programming CNC using G-code and M-code.

Responsibilities

Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances.
Plan and perform machining operations to fabricate, modify, repair, or maintain tooling and fixtures.
Set up and operate manual and CNC machines (mills, lathes, grinders, saws).
Program CNC equipment using G-code and M-code.
Inspect components with calipers, micrometers, gauges for conformance.
Troubleshoot tooling and machining issues and implement fixes.
