Job summary

CACI International Inc in Bethesda, MD, seeks two CNC Machinists to support NSWCCD Fabrication Group, machining parts for DoD ship and submarine tests in a state-of-the-art prototype shop with HAAS and Doosan machines. You will set up 4- and 5-axis CNC centers, read blueprints, apply Mil-Spec and GD&T, design fixtures, and select cutters to achieve tolerances of +/- .001 inches.

A Journeyman CNC Machinist qualification, trade school certificate, high school diploma, and DoD Secret clearance or

Qualifications

• Must read and interpret blueprints and drawings.
• Proficient with G and M codes and CAM editing.
• Experience with 4- and 5-axis CNC machines.
• Knowledge of Mil-Spec and GD&T standards.

Responsibilities

• Determine and perform set up of CNC vertical machining centers for CAM programs.
• Work with 4- and 5-axis CNC machines.
• Design and build fixtures (preferred).
• Select cutters and tool holders suitable for jobs.
• Set up and operate the full range of machine tools in a prototype shop.
• Maintain dimensional accuracy to tolerances to +/- .001" using measuring instruments.
• Read blueprints and mechanical drawings.
• Operate within safety protocols.
