Job summary

Software Placement Group in Springfield, MA is seeking an experienced CNC Lathe Machinist for the 2nd shift (3 PM - 11 PM). This full-time, direct-placement role offers competitive pay and the chance to work with 3-, 4-, and 5-axis lathe equipment in a manufacturing setting.

You will set up, adjust, and operate CNC lathes per blueprints, perform quality inspections, troubleshoot tooling and controls, and maintain a safe, organized work area on site.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years CNC Lathe experience with 3–4 axis setup and operation.
• Strong 5-axis machining background.
• Aerospace industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC lathe machines (3, 4, and 5-Axis) according to blueprint specifications.
• Make machine adjustments and troubleshoot controllers, machines, and processes.
• Select appropriate tools and set feeds and speeds to meet production requirements.
• Perform inspections of machined parts using precision hand tools to ensure quality standards.
• Work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining productivity.
• Lift up to 70 lbs. as needed.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including tools, equipment, and machinery.
• Monitor inventory and reorder tools as necessary.
