Job summary

Calqulate Metrics Ltd in Springfield, MA is seeking an experienced CNC Lathe Machinist with a strong background in 5-axis machining to set up, operate and adjust CNC lathes to blueprint specifications.

You will select tools, set feeds and speeds, perform precision inspections with hand tools, and maintain a clean, safe work area while meeting production targets and lifting up to 70 lbs. The role also requires independence and troubleshooting abilities.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years of CNC lathe experience in 3- and 4-axis setup and operation.
• Strong background in 5-axis machining and blueprint reading.
• Aerospace experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Job Overview:
Our client is seeking an experienced CNC Lathe Machinist with a strong background in 5-Axis machining. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and adjusting CNC machines with minimal supervision to produce high-quality parts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate CNC lathe machines (3, 4, and 5-Axis) according to blueprint specifications.

• Make machine adjustments and troubleshoot controllers, machines, and processes.

• Select appropriate tools and set feeds and speeds to meet production requirements.

• Perform inspections of machined parts using precision hand tools to ensure quality standards.

• Work independently with minimal supervision and maintain productivity.

• Lift up to 70 lbs. as needed.

• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including tools, equipment, and machinery.

• Monitor inventory and reorder tools as necessary.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED.

• 8-10 years of CNC Machining (Lathe) experience in CNC 3 & 4-Axis lathe setup and operation.

• Aerospace background is preferred.
