MANCHESTER, CT-based aerospace manufacturer is seeking an experienced CNC Lathe Machinist for 1st and 2nd shifts. The role focuses on setting up and operating CNC lathes to produce high-precision aerospace components and requires reading engineering drawings to ensure tolerances are met.

Qualifications

Experience setting up and operating CNC lathes.
Read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
Experience with tooling changes, offsets and machine adjustments.
Aerospace or precision manufacturing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate CNC lathes to manufacture precision aerospace components.
Load and unload components, select appropriate tooling and make necessary machine adjustments.
Read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints to ensure components meet specifications.
Perform tooling changes, tool offsets and machine adjustments as required.
Conduct in-process inspections using precision measuring equipment.
Work to tight tolerances while maintaining production and quality standards.
Monitor machine performance and troubleshoot basic machining issues.
Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment.
Carry out routine machine maintenance and equipment checks.
