Job summary

Amentum seeks a high-level CNC Machine Repair Technician in Winston-Salem, NC. The role focuses on machinery geometry, alignment, and preventive maintenance in an industrial setting, requiring hands-on troubleshooting of complex CNC assets.

The candidate will mentor others, calibrate instruments, and coordinate with management to resolve manufacturing issues, ensuring safety and compliance while maintaining equipment reliability and performance.

Qualifications

• Six years of experience as a CNC repair technician in an industrial production environment or equivalent
• Experience with alignments and machine geometry using precision calibration tools
• Must be able to work in an aerial lift or scissor lift up to 30 ft+

Responsibilities

• Diagnoses, troubleshoots, maintains, and repairs CNC machines and related mechanical equipment
• Calibrates instrumentation, equipment, and controls for optimum performance
• Finds solutions and procures spare parts
• Mentors and trains less skilled technicians
• Communicates with site management and customers to resolve manufacturing problems
• Performs preventive maintenance per CMMS
• Ensures safety and code compliance
• Operates measuring and diagnostic instruments to support energy efficiency
• Works with hand tools, laptops, and diagnostic hardware to complete tasks
• Identifies cost-saving opportunities
