Job summary

Micron Technology, Inc. in Boise, ID, is seeking a Staff CMP PD Engineer to identify, diagnose, and resolve CMP process issues using failure analysis, FMEA, 8D, or SPC/FDC methods.

You will develop CMP processes, optimize for cost and variability, collaborate with process integration and other teams to drive solutions, maintain a pilot line, and support transfers to production, with international travel as needed.

Qualifications

• MS/PhD (or equivalent) in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, or related field.
• 5+ years of semiconductor CMP process engineering experience, preferably in 300mm wafer fabs.
• Experience with dielectrics/metals CMP processes and slurry/pad interactions; FEOL/BEOL CMP experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop CMP processes to meet physical and electrical requirements.
• Optimize CMP processes to reduce cost and variability.
• Collaborate with process integration and development teams to create solutions.
• Conduct root cause and failure mode analysis on hardware and CMP consumables; drive development with OEMs and vendors.
• Maintain a technology development pilot manufacturing line.
• Support process transfer to production facilities, with some international travel.
