Job summary

Micron Technology is seeking a Staff CMP PD Engineer in Boise to lead chemical mechanical planarization development and optimization for state-of-the-art memory devices.

You will work with process integration, electrical failure analysis, yield improvement, and equipment vendors to drive CMP performance, cost reduction, and quality. The role requires strong problem-solving, DOE/SPC experience, and willingness to travel for process transfers.

Qualifications

• M.S./Ph.D. in Materials Science, Chemical Eng, Electrical Eng, Mechanical Eng, Chemistry, or related field.
• 5+ years of semiconductor CMP process engineering experience.
• Experience with dielectrics/metals CMP and slurry/pad interactions.
• Experience in FEOL/BEOL CMP and CMP-related electrical/probe failure.
• Knowledge of semiconductor processing and solid-state device physics.

Responsibilities

• Develop CMP processes to meet device requirements.
• Optimize CMP processes to reduce cost and variability.
• Collaborate with process integration and development teams.
• Conduct root cause and failure mode analyses with OEMs and vendors.
• Perform fundamental research to drive next-gen CMP solutions.
• Maintain a technology development pilot manufacturing line.
• Support process transfer to production facilities (international travel possible).
