Job summary

Scottish Rite for Children in Dallas is seeking a senior IT Telecom & Clinical Communications Engineer to own the hospital’s voice and clinical communications environment, including cloud voice (8x8), nurse call, emergency alerts, paging, and life-safety lines. This role drives reliability and modernization, partnering with the Network team to ensure QoS.

Qualifications

Five or more years in telecoms and unified communications in critical environments.
Ownership of enterprise voice services including call routing and governance.
Experience partnering with network teams to define QoS and segmentation.
Strong documentation of runbooks, inventories, and SOPs.

Responsibilities

Cloud Voice and Telephony Platform Ownership (8x8): provisioning, routing, attendants, queues, voicemail, and recording configs.
Standardize call flow designs for day, after-hours, downtime, and business continuity routing.
Lead nurse call and emergency alert workflows (Ascom, Rauland) and integration with clinical stakeholders.
Oversee paging/mass notification and life-safety line coordination; ensure uptime.
Own POTS/analog lines support and modernization planning; drive vendor escalation and incident response.
Collaborate with Network on QoS and VLAN segmentation for voice traffic.
Maintain runbooks, escalation paths, and service inventories; establish vendor cadence.
